Greta – Is she extremist?

On Friday, 1325 cities in 98 countries were involved in school clashes around the climate.

Many have their views on this. The word extremism flourishes.

One can see how people think this is a “game for the gallery”.

And, of course, it can be: If the school-striking young people really cherish the climate, it would mean that they say to their guardians:

– from now on you no longer need to pick up / leave with the car when I go to school, training and friends. Because from now on I will cycle wherever I go! Even if it’s raining. …

– You can lower my monthly money considerably. Who wants to keep on consuming unnecessarily daugh

– Junk food and Nocco are not my thing anymore. I want more broccoli and tap water.

– I will reduce clothing purchases to a minimum. It won’t bring in a single Parajumpers jacket in my wardrobe! We will have clothes change days once a month at the school to get some variation in the closet, super climate smart!

– my Thailand trip in November can be canceled! Only foul climate fascists fly. Yes, and I’m not going to ride the car down to Italy this summer either. Now it is only train holidays that apply, otherwise I stay at home.

– It is the end of a new mobile every year. Every 3rd, 4th year is actually more reasonable to change.

– You know those half-hour-long hot showers that you chew on every morning? Nothing but a memory! Max 5 minutes, I promise!

And we know that, no, many are not prepared to contribute.

But I still claim that Greta is not extreme, she is worried, which many, especially young people, are. Extremism is something where there are no compromises or pragmatism. Compromises are made around the climate, we all prioritize. Friend of order perhaps mean that there is no truth theory about the climate.

Of course, we find many opportunists among those who support Greta’s actions, but we should be happy about the signal value that is spreading about the concerns about the climate and how knowledge increases and spread among the world’s citizens.

I fredags var det 1325 städer i 98 länder som var med och skol-strejkade kring klimatet.

Många har sina åsikter om detta. Ordet extremism florerar.

Man kan se hur folk tycker att detta är ett “spel för galleriet”.

Och visst kan det vara så: Om de skol-strejkande ungdomarna verkligen värnar om klimatet skulle det innebära att de säger till sina vårdnadshavare:

– från och med nu behöver ni inte längre hämta/lämna med bilen när jag ska till skolan, träningen och till kompisar. För från och med nu kommer jag att cykla var jag än ska! Även om det ösregnar. …

– ni kan sänka min månadspeng rejält. Vem vill hålla på och konsumera i onödan liksom??

– skräpmat och Nocco är inte min grej längre. Jag vill ha mer broccoli och kranvatten.

– jag kommer att dra ner på kläd-inköpen till ett minimum. Det kommer inte in en endaste Parajumper jacka till i min garderob! Vi ska ha klädbytardagar en gång i månaden på skolan för att få lite variation i garderoben, super klimatsmart!

– min Thailandsresa i november kan avbokas! Bara vidriga klimat-fascister flyger. Ja, och jag tänker minsann inte åka med i bilen ner till Italien i sommar heller. Nu är det endast tågsemester som gäller, i annat fall stannar jag hemma.

– det är sluttjatat om ny mobil varje år. Vart 3:e, 4:e år är faktiskt mer rimligt att byta.

– ni vet de där halvtimmeslånga varma duscharna som ni tjafsar om varenda morgon? Ett minne blott! Max 5 minuter, jag lovar!

Och det vet vi, nej detta är det många som inte är beredda att bidra med.

Men jag hävdar ändå att Greta inte är extrem, hon är orolig, vilket många fler av alla ungdomar är. Extremism är något där det inte finns några kompromisser eller pragmatism. Kompromisser gör man kring klimatet, alla prioriterar vi. Vän av ordning kanske menar att det inte finns någon sanningsteori kring klimatet.

Visst är det så att vi hittar många opportunister bland de som ställer sig bakom Gretas agerande, men vi ska vara glada över det signalvärde som sprids om oron kring klimatet och hur kunskapen ökar och sprids bland världens medborgare.
