AIKKIYA (UNITED) –

By uniting faiths, cultures, and values, the emblem opens the door to every individual, no matter their belief or background. It offers relief in a divided world, a reminder that everyone has a place, and a sense of belonging in a movement rooted in compassion, balance, and respect for peaceful democracy.
Aikkiya is written in Tamil and means united or combined. Tamil is one of the world’s oldest surviving languages.
Archaeological inscriptions have been found across Jainism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Today, 74 million people speak Tamil, with 60 million living in India.
The name mirrors our mission: to unite diverse traditions in the pursuit of justice and democracy.
Sources behind those claims:
Christianity: Quilon/Tharisappalli copper plates — charter to a Syrian Christian church, engraved in Tamil (Vattezhuthu) with Grantha.
Judaism: Jewish copper plates of Cochin — royal charter in Vatteluttu / Old Malayalam or Middle Tamil.
Jainism and Hinduism: Museum/epigraphic documentation of Tamil Jain inscriptions and iconography in Tamil Nadu; abundant Tamil temple/cave epigraphy.

Aikkiya is not a political party and not a traditional NGO. We are a movement that unites people, communities, and organisations around shared moral and ethical values.
In a world where polarization and extremism push people to the far ends, Aikkiya offers an alternative space: a platform where diversity becomes strength, and democracy is rooted in compassion, respect, and peaceful coexistence.
